GNL Quebec files for LNG export permit
GNL Quebec has submitted an application to the Canadian NEB (National Energy Board) to export LNG from its proposed Énergie Saguenay project.
The company is considering the possibility of building a CAN$ 7 billion natural gas export terminal at the Port of Saguenay. The permit with authorise GNL Quebec to export up to 11 million tpa of LNG, the equivalent of approximately 16.1 billion m3.
Commenting on the application, GNL Quebec President, Michel Gagnon, said: “We have been well received in the region and we will continue the consultation process in the coming months with all stakeholders. We chose the Port of Saguenay for its many benefits for its remote location, its access to renewable power to run our facility, and for the quality of its workforce. We will take every possible step to maximise benefits for the region.”
