FERC approves Gulf LNG Liquefaction pre-filing request
The US Federal Energy Regulatory Committee (FERC) has approved Gulf LNG Liquefaction’s request to initiate the pre-filing environmental review process for a proposed LNG export terminal at Gulf LNG’s existing LNG import terminal in the Port of Pascagoula, Jackson County, Mississippi.
Gulf LNG plans to construct liquefaction facilities (LNG trains, and processing and support facilities) in order to export LNG from its existing import facility in the Port of Pascagoula.
The company also plans to make modifications to existing terminal and pipeline facilities to accommodate bi-directional flow of natural gas. No new pipeline looping or additional LNG storage is planned for the project. Up to 10.5 million tpa of LNG would be produced from a natural gas feedstock rate of up to 1.5 billion ft3/d, serving multiple liquefaction and export customers.
According to FERC, Gulf LNG anticipates filing a formal application for the project in April 2015.
