Liquefied Natural Gas Ltd (LNG Ltd) has denied any knowledge of a potential takeover bid for the company.
In a one sentence statement on its website, LNG Ltd said: “In response to an article in [the] Financial Review, Liquefied Natural Gas Limited is not aware of or is in discussions in relation to a takeover.”
Rumours of a potential takeover for the company were sparked as LNG Ltd’s shares increased over 50% in the last week.
Earlier this month, LNG Ltd issued a statement in response to an ASX price query, claiming that it was not aware of any information concerning it that has not been announced to the market which, if known, could explain the recent trading in its securities.
The statement said: “The company does not have an explanation for the price change in the securities of the company.”
