Plaquemines LNG files LNG export application

Venture Global Plaquemines LNG LLC has filed an application to the US Department of Energy (DOE) for authorisation to export LNG to countries with and without a free trade agreement (FTA) with the US.
The company plans to export the LNG from its planned liquefaction and LNG export terminal, which will be located on the west bank of the Mississippi River, in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana, US.
Plaquemines LNG is seeking authorisation to export up to a total of 1240 billion ft3/yr of LNG (approximately 24 million tpy of LNG), over a 25-year period.
Plaquemines LNG also confirmed that it anticipates filing its formal application with the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) later in 2016.
