ATCO awarded modular units contract for Wheatstone LNG
ATCO Structures & Logistics Pty. Ltd has been awarded additional scope to design, manufacture and install 435 modular units for the Wheatstone LNG project.
The scope comes under ATCO’s current agreement with Bechtel on the Chevron-operated project in Western Australia. The additional work is valued at approximately AUS$130 million, and will commence in March 2015, with an expected completion in late 2015.
This additional work is the fourth major contract supporting LNG projects in Australia.
Commenting on the contract award, George Lidgett, President, said: "ATCO is pleased to continue its work with Bechtel and Chevron on one of Australia's largest resource projects and to support the creation of jobs in the communities where we operate. Our investment in manufacturing in Western Australia has provided us with the flexibility to meet the varied requirements of partners in the state, as well as more broadly in the region, by utilizing a well-established local supply chain, ensuring the best quality and reliable product at a competitive price."
ATCO undertakes off-site construction and on-site installation simultaneously, using a coordinated ‘Just-In-Time’ methodology.
