Golden Pass LNG terminal construction imminent

According to Reuters, Exxon Mobil and Qatar Petroleum have informed the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) that construction will commence on the US$10 billion Golden Pass LNG terminal on 13 May.

The two companies took a final investment decision on the Texas project in February this year. The 16 million tpy LNG project is expected to begin operating in 2024.

Ownership of the project is split 70:30 between Qatar Petroleum and Exxon, respectively.
