Anadarko announces pricing of US$3 billion of senior notes

Anadarko Petroleum Corp., the developer of the Mozambique LNG project, has announced that it has priced its registered public offering of US$3 billion aggregate principal amount of senior notes comprised of US$800 million 4.85% senior notes due 2021, US$1.1 billion 5.55% senior notes due 2026, and US$1.1 billion 6.60% senior notes due 2046.
Anadarko Corp. added that it expects to close the offering on 17 March 2016, subject to customary closing conditions. The company intends to use the net proceeds from the offering to refinance its 5.95% senior notes prior to or at maturity in September 2016. The remaining net proceeds will be used to refinance a portion of its 6.375% senior notes prior to or at maturity in September 2017. In the interim. Anadarko may use the net proceeds for general corporate purposes.
