Data from Refinitiv reportedly shows that the Tangguh Foja tanker loaded an LNG cargo at the Tangguh LNG plant in Indonesia in January, and was en route to the Rudong terminal, which is located in Jiangsu province, China.
According to Reuters, an analyst at data intelligence firm Kpler told Reuters that the vessel has now been diverted to the South China Sea, and is now located between Borneo and Vietnam.
Reuters reports that a number of LNG buyers in China are considering either delaying or cancelling cargo deliveries by invoking a force majeure.
The destination of the Tangguh cargo has not yet been confirmed.
