Reuters is reporting that India is seeking to renegotiate the price of its long-term LNG contracts with Qatar.
The renegotiation is being sought in light of the fact that spot cargoes being delivered to India are currently being priced at approximately half the amount that the country is paying to Qatar under its long-term deals.
India currently imports 8.5 million tpy from Qatar under long-term contracts.
A previous renegotiation in 2015 saw India and Qatar agree to cut their previous contact price by half.
