During the state visit of Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, to Germany, RWE and UAE partners signed two agreements: a memorandum of understanding (MoU) regarding offshore wind between RWE and Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company PJSC – Masdar, and a letter of intent (LOI) between RWE and ADNOC regarding future LNG supplies.
The agreements reinforce the growing economic and energy relationship between Germany and the UAE and reflect the ongoing dialogue between RWE and UAE companies, as well as their shared interest in supporting the development of renewable energy opportunities and enhancing energy security in Germany and Europe.
The LOI between ADNOC and RWE Supply & Trading builds on ongoing discussions about long-term LNG supply opportunities established under the strategic collaboration agreement signed in February 2026. Both parties intend to agree on the terms of up to two LNG sale and purchase agreements, building upon key commercial terms covering deliveries to Germany and other European markets, as well as to Asian markets, supplied from ADNOC Gas’ and XRG’s growing LNG portfolio including Ruwais, Das, Rio Grande, Mozambique, and Argentina, with supply commencing in the early 2030s.
