Reganosa has announced that its terminal in Mugardos, Spain, has welcomed the smallest vessel to have ever docked at its pier.
The 10 441 dwt Coral Fungia is just 137 m long, and unloaded 9500 m3 of LNG from a liquefaction plant located on Russia’s Baltic coast. Reganosa claims that this operation signifies a step forward for small scale vessel activity.
The liquefaction facility that Coral Fungia departed from only commenced export operations in April this year. This facility has an annual capacity of just 640 000 t of LNG.
In the statement, Reganosa claims that it is progressing with its adaption of the pier for small scale vessel traffic. The pier will be equipped with suitable connections for receiving and supplying LNG to small gas tankers that can supply satellite port plants or other vessels that use this type of fuel for shipping.
