Evergas has announced that it has held a naming ceremony for its eighth and final ‘dragon class’ LNG carrier.

The 27 500 m3 multigas carrier – JS INEOS INVENTION – was named on 6 July at the Enterprise terminal in Houston, Texas, US.

Evergas claims that the vessel bears a distinct dragon, which symbolises its Chinese and Western heritage. The dragon chosen to ‘sail and protect’ the vessel is the King of Wood, which symbolises leadership, flexibility, generosity and idealism. The colours represent Chinese wood, the beginning of life and fecundity.
