CNOOC announces several leadership changes

CNOOC Ltd has released a statement announcing several changes to its leadership.

Mr. Yang Hua, whilst remaining Chairman of the company, also becomes CEO and re-designated Executive Director. Mr. Wu Guangqi, meanwhile, has been re-designated Non-executive Director and has left his position as Compliance Officer. Mr. Chen Wei will fill the position of Compliance Officer and General Counsel. Mr. Li Fanrong, meanwhile, has resigned as CEO, President and Executive Director, whilst Mr. Yuan Guangyu has been appointed President and Executive Director.

The Chairman and CEO, Mr. Yang Hua, said: “On behalf of the Board of Directors, I extend a warm welcome to Mr. Yuan Guangyu on his appointment as President and Executive Director. Together with Mr. Yuan and the management, I will lead the company to proactively tackle the challenges of low oil prices, adjust our development concept in a timely manner, and promote the company’s sustainable development to create greater value for our shareholders.”

CNOOC commences expansion of Fujian LNG terminal

According to Reuters, CNOOC – the largest Chinese LNG importer – has commenced construction of two 160 000 m3 storage tanks at a receiving terminal in Fujian province.

BG Group has completed transactions with CNOOC for the sale of additional interests in the QCLNG project in Australia and the supply of LNG.
