Reuters is reporting that Asian LNG spot prices have increased marginally from the recent record lows.

This slight improvement in prices has been due to Chinese buyers re-entering the market, however elsewhere demand has remained stagnant, and this has ultimately had the effect of capping the price rises.

According to the latest estimates from Reuters trading sources, the average LNG spot price for a delivery into northeast Asia in May rose by 10 cents to US$2.40 per million Btu this week. The same sources have reported that the price for a cargo for delivery in June is approximately US$2.50 per million Btu.
