According to the latest report from Reuters, an LNG tanker has docked at ExxonMobil’s Papua New Guinea export plant.

This new arrival indicates that the facility is preparing to resume shipments after an eight week closure. The terminal sustained damage during the 7.5 magnitude earthquake that struck the area in late February and in the aftermath was forced to cease operations to allow for repairs.

The 172 000 m3 capacity LNG tanker Kumul, custom-built for the ExxonMobil operated PNG LNG project, remains moored at the terminal. It has been suggested that this is the delivery of LNG ExxonMobil purchased in March to keep its PNG plant cold.
