The US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has issued a notice of schedule for environmental review of the Golden Pass LNG export project.

The proposed project plans to expand the existing Golden Pass LNG import terminal to have the capability to export up to 15.6 million tpy of domestic natural gas as LNG.

FERC has now confirmed that it plans to issue the final Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the LNG project on 4 March 2016, with a 90-day Federal Authorisation decision deadline of 2 June 2016.

The project would involve construction of an LNG export facility contiguous to, and integrated with, the existing Golden Pass LNG Import Terminal in Jefferson County, Texas, US.

The Project would also include approximately 2.6 miles of new 42 in. dia. pipeline and associated facilities in Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana, and three new compressor stations located in Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana and Jefferson and Orange Counties, Texas, to enable bidirectional flow capability.
