Bechtel has announced that together with Cheniere Energy it has produced the first LNG from the Corpus Christi liquefaction project in Texas, US.

According to the statement, this production train at the project is the latest of six trains that Bechtel has delivered with Cheniere at two sites on the US Gulf Coast. The Sabine Pass liquefaction project in Louisiana produced first LNG from that site’s fifth train just last week.

Bechtel Oil, Gas, and Chemicals President, Alasdair Cathcart, said: “These achievements further highlight the value this on going successful partnership with Cheniere brings for both of us.

“We are proud to have contributed to Cheniere’s success by collaboratively delivering these LNG trains ahead of schedule and with cost certainty through our lump-sum approach.”

Recently, Cheniere also announced that it has selected Bechtel to execute the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for the sixth train that is planned for the Sabine Pass facility.
