Gazprom and Shell to sign deal for Baltic LNG project

According to Reuters, Gazprom is set to sign a deal with Shell regarding a Baltic LNG project at a forum in St Petersburg, Russia, in June 2016.

It is expected that the facility will be constructed by December 2021. It will have a total production capacity of up to 20 million tpy of LNG.

Yuri Ushakov, a Kremlin aide, reportedly said that Shell CEO Ben van Beurden will sign the deal in the presence of the Russian President, Vladimir Putin.

Shell acquires Repsol’s LNG assets

Repsol has sold its LNG assets to Shell for US$6.7 billion. The deal strengthens Repsol’s balance sheet and reduces its net debt by half.
