Cargo liftings have been suspended while the company works to restore production following an electrical trip that occurred on 2 February 2020.
The FLNG unit is capable of producing 3.6 million tpy of LNG, as well as 1.3 million tpy of condensate and 400 000 tpy of LPG. It is located off the coast of northwest Australia, and shipped its first LNG cargo in June last year following startup delays. The facility has reportedly been working towards operating at full capacity ever since then.
According to Reuters, Shell said in an emailed statement: “Work continues to restore full operations on Prelude, our floating LNG facility in Australia.
“The shipping schedule has been proactively adjusted, with cargoes temporarily suspended.”
A spokeswoman for the company reportedly declined to comment on when production might be restored, or how many cargoes might be affected.
