The Premier of the Government of British Columbia (B.C.), Canada, Christy Clark, will head a trade mission to South Korea, the Philippines and Japan from 23 to 31 May 2016.
During the trip, Clark will reiterate B.C.’s commitment to long-standing trade relationships with both Japan and South Korea, and will promote LNG. Clark will also reaffirm B.C.’s interest in opening up new markets in Southeast Asia.
The Premier will meet with a number of key LNG stakeholders in Japan and South Korea, and will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding energy cooperation with Japan.
The Premiers of Canada’s northern and western provinces have commenced talks at the annual Western Premiers’ Conference in Vancouver to discuss growing the economy, including through energy development.
British Columbia’s Minister of Natural Gas Development has returned from a business development trip to Asia, in which he sought to strengthen B.C.’s working relationship with LNG partners based in Tokyo, Japan.
