Summit LNG Terminal started send out of approximately 110 million ft3/d of regasified LNG to Bangladesh’s national gas grid at 6:10 pm on 14 August 2026 upon the arrival of an LNG carrier to Moheshkhali. Summit LNG has remained fully available and operational at full capacity as it awaited the arrival of the LNG carrier. Summit LNG reached full speed of 550 million ft3 supply approximately at 2 am on 15 August 2026.
The increased supply is expected to help improve gas availability for industries, power generation, and other consumers, supporting economic activity and reducing pressure on the country’s energy system.
Summit LNG remains committed to maintaining safe and reliable operations and maximising gas delivery within the technical capacity of the terminal and the national gas transmission system.
Summit believes that ensuring adequate and uninterrupted energy supply is essential for Bangladesh’s industrial growth, employment, and economic development.
The company will continue working closely with Petrobangla and the Government of Bangladesh to support the country’s energy security and help alleviate gas shortages.
