Reportedly, AGL is carrying out an AUS$17 million study on constructing an LNG import terminal. The company estimates that the project would cost between AUS$200 million and AUS$300 million, and that a number of sites have already been identified. AGL added that it was planning to make a final investment decision (FID) in 2018 – 2019, and that a terminal could be available by 2021.
Reuters claims that the LNG could be imported from a number of places, including Europe, Africa, Asia, the US and the Middle East.
