Woodside signs SPA with Chubu Electric

Woodside has signed a sales and purchase agreement with Chubu Electric Power Co. Inc. for the supply of up to approximately 1.5 million t of liquefied natural gas (LNG) over a three year period commencing in April 2014.

The LNG will primarily be sourced from previously uncommitted volumes from Woodside’s Pluto LNG project.

Other terms of the agreement are commercial-in-confidence.

Woodside CEO, Peter Coleman, said: “The agreement demonstrates the importance of Pluto LNG volumes in meeting growing regional demand for natural gas and also Woodside’s increasingly diverse LNG purchasing, sales and shipping arrangements.”
