According to Reuters, an LNG tanker is en route to China from the US to make the first delivery of this kind since March 2019.

The tanker, SK Resolute, reportedly loaded at the Cameron LNG terminal on 22 March. Reuters sources suggest its original destination was Cristobal in Panama, but its destination changed on 28 March to Tianjin, China. The tanker is expected to arrive at the Chinese port on 28 April, although it may yet change destination for a second time.

Should the Resolute complete its delivery to China, it will be the first Chinese import of US LNG since it raised tariffs on US LNG imports to 25% last year.
