Reuters are reporting that Korea Gas Corp (KOGAS) is interested in Iranian and US natural gas as LNG imports from the two countries are seen possible without destination restrictions.

"When new suppliers enter, they cannot request destination restrictions ... we can secure supplies that don't carry destination restrictions," commented Lee Seung-hoon, Chief Executive and President of KOGAS.

Lee also announced that the company could secure US shale gas if it participates in new liquefaction facility projects under a US Trump administration.

"US trade pressure is likely to increase, but US gas investments can work as a tool against trade pressure," he said.
