LNG Industry,

On Friday 6 December, installation of the first gas compressor unit began at the Russkaya compressor station in the Krasnodar Territory, Russia. The station will ensure gas transmission via the South Stream gas pipeline.

The domestically produced Ladoga gas compressor unit is highly efficient, with a capacity of 32 MW. In total, the station will be equipped with 14 similar compressor units, with an aggregate capacity of 448 MW.

The gas compressor unit installation started as per schedule and marked an important milestone in the construction of the Russkaya compressor station as well as the South Stream gas pipeline.

Russkaya will become the most powerful compressor station, pumping 63 billion m3/year of natural gas through the Black Sea, over 900 km.
