URS awarded LNG Canada contract

URS Corporation has been awarded a contract by LNG Canada to serve as the main information contractor for its proposed LNG export facility in Kitimat, British Columbia.

Under the contract, URS’ scope of work will be to configure, implement, and support an integrated engineering environment that enables the project to create and share information through a central platform. URS is under contract for the project’s front-end engineering design phase and will work closely with LNG Canada’s main contractor, CFSW LNG Constructors, a joint venture with affiliates of Chiyoda Corporation, Foster Wheeler, Saipem, and WorleyParsons.

LNG Canada granted AIR approval

The BC Environmental Assessment Office has approved LNG Canada’s AIR for the company’s proposed LNG export project.

Kitimat awarded export license

Canada’s National Energy Board (NEB) has approved an application by KM LNG Operating General Partnership (KM LNG) for a licence to export liquefied LNG from Kitimat, British Columbia to markets in the Asia Pacific region.
