Atkins awarded engineering support contract by Chevron

Atkins has announced that it has won a contract to provide engineering support services for Chevron’s Western Australian-based assets. Atkins will provide a range of both onshore and offshore engineering services to support the company’s assets.

Atkins already has a portfolio of work in the region, including the Ichthys LNG project. The company has also signed a multi-disciplinary pre-front end engineering and design (FEED) decommissioning contract with Centrica Energy.

The Operations Director of Atkins’ oil and gas Asia Pacific business, Nick Wells, said: “We are looking forward to delivering innovative work across the lifecycle of Chevron’s assets covered in this agreement. Our decade of experience in the Australian oil and gas sector puts us in an ideal position to support our clients in this region.”

Chevron gives final approval for Wheatstone LNG project

Chevron has given the green light to start work on the proposed Wheatstone LNG project in Western Australia, the approval has come after Chevron received federal approval to build the 25 million tpa LNG liquefaction plant last week.
