Statoil has released a video looking at Snøhvit. The field is located in the Barents Sea, and is the world’s northernmost offshore gas field. Recently, the company announced that the drilling of a new injection well for CO2 gas has commenced, and that the drilling of a production well for the replenishment of gas for Hammerfest LNG will follow.

Statoil has announced that drilling has commenced for a new injection well for CO2 gas on the Snøhvit field, with the drilling of a production well for Hammerfest LNG to follow.
Technip has been awarded by Statoil ASA a contract for pipelay and subsea installations for the Snøhvit CO2 Solution project.
Statoil ASA has decided to divest a 24.1% direct and indirect stake in Gassled joint venture (jv) for US$ 3.25 billion. Following this transaction, Statoil will continue to own 5.0% in the jv.
Statoil will have the Snøhvit LNG plant back up to full capacity by the end of January after it was forced to shut down on 20 December due to a technical fault.
