Ryder System wins green supply chain award

Ryder System Inc. has been named a 2014 Green Supply Chain Award winner by Supply and Demand Chain Executive (SDCE).

The Green Supply Chain Awards recognise companies making green or sustainability a core part of their supply chain strategy and working to achieve measurable sustainability goals within their own operations and/or supply chains. Ryder has received the award for six years now.

We are proud to be recognised again for helping our customers achieve their business and sustainability goals,” said Ryder President of Global Supply Chain Solutions, John Williford.

LNG vehicles

Ryder is the leader in natural gas vehicle solutions for the commercial transportation industry, with more than 27 million miles of experience, 14 natural gas vehicle maintenance facilities, and 260 natural gas vehicle trained technicians. Ryder has deployed CNG and LNG vehicles into the fleets of customers in California, New York, Michigan, Texas, Arizona, Utah, Maryland, Georgia and Louisiana as well as in Canada.

The company operates LNG to CNG (LCNG) fuel stations at its Fontana and Orange, California, service locations. Ryder also operates an LNG fuel station at its Fulton, Georgia maintenance facility.

Blu. has opened a liquefied natural gas fuelling station in Georgia, one of the first to be opened in the Atlanta area.

NGVA promotes LNG for vehicles

The Natural Gas Vehicle Association promoted the use of LNG as fuel in heavy goods vehicles, at the TEN-T Days exhibition in Estonia.
