Skangass has celebrated a topping out ceremony at its Pori LNG terminal.

Project Manager, Stanislav Lysak, from Gasum, said: “The most challenging phase in the construction project was the building of the 35 m tall concrete wall. Excellent progress has been made in the work, and the weather has also been on our side. We’re particularly happy about there not having been any occupational accidents resulting in days off work in the project. Our ‘safety first’ policy plays a key role in everything we do. Safety regulations are stringent and our goal is zero accidents at work.”

Skangass is investing €86 million in the Pori LNG import terminal in order to strengthen Finnish LNG infrastructure. The Finnish Ministry for Employment and the Economy granted €23 million of energy support for the LNG project.

The LNG terminal will comprise the LNG storage tank, loading docks, process units, flare torch, three loading docks for road tankers, a transformer building and a heat production unit.
