Wärtsilä appoints VP for treasury and financial services

Ms Anu Hämäläinen has been appointed Vice President, Group Treasury and Financial Services & Support, at Wärtsilä Corporation effective 1 February 2015.

She will report to Marco Wirén, Executive Vice President and CFO. Ms Hämäläinen's duties will cover Treasury, Cash Management, Financial Administration, Financial Services, Risk Management and Insurances. In addition to these duties she will also continue to have responsibility for Wärtsilä Shared Service Center (WSSC).

Hämäläinen has been Vice President, Group Control at Wärtsilä Corporation since September 2010. She has been responsible for financial accounting, management reporting, taxation, parent company controlling and WSSC. Before that, Hämäläinen was responsible for Group Financial Accounting within Wärtsilä. She also worked for eight years in the 90's in Wärtsilä's accounting and finance departments.

The current Vice President, Group Treasury and Financial Services, Mr Markus Pietikäinen, has been appointed Vice President, Wärtsilä Power Plants, Americas effective 1 November 2014. Pietikäinen will also continue with his duties as Vice President Group Treasury and Financial Services until 31 January 2015.

Wärtsilä in talks to buy regas firm

Wärtsilä is in advanced discussions with Hamworthy regarding an 825 pence per ordinary share cash offer. Hamworthy are producers of ship based LNG regasification systems.
