Elba Island LNG production pushed back to 1Q19

Kinder Morgan has announced that the first of 10 LNG production units at affiliate Southern LNG company’s terminal at Elba Island, Georgia, is now expected to be placed in service in 1Q19, with the remaining nine units expected to come online throughout 2019.

The company had anticipated an initial in-service date of 4Q18 for the first LNG production unit at the facility. The facility will have a total liquefaction capacity of approximately 2.5 million tpy of LNG, equivalent to approximately 350 million ft3/d of natural gas.
