LNG newcomer, Canada Stewart Energy Group Ltd, has submitted a natural gas export license application with Canada’s National Energy Board (NEB).
There are currently seven approved export licenses for liquefied natural gas projects in British Columbia, and four under review, including the submission made by Canada Stewart Energy Group.
Export natural gas
The company is requesting permission to export natural gas from British Columbia to customers overseas where the demand for clean energy continues to grow.
Stewart Energy Group is a Canadian corporation registered in BC and is proposing a development near Stewart in northern British Columbia. The small-scale project is in the early stages of development and is investigating a land base for operations.
LNG export application
Minister of Natural Gas Development, Rich Coleman, commented: “We welcome Stewart Energy to the Province. With another LNG export application submitted, we now have 11 proposals looking to export BC’s natural gas to markets in Asia. LNG is a generational opportunity to create jobs, strong economic partnerships and long-term prosperity in British Columbia.”
