Wood Group nets Australian Woodside contract

LNG Industry,

Wood Group PSN has been awarded a contract by Woodside Petroleum in Western Australia, boosting the company’s maintenance and brownfield project portfolio in Australia.

EPCM services

The scope of work includes engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) services on Woodside’s Karratha Gas Plant Life Extension Program, as well as providing modification and refurbishment services to Woodside’s Production Projects Group across the company’s onshore and offshore assets.

Woodside is Australia’s largest LNG producer, and the operator of two liquefaction plants. The company’s North West Shelf LNG project is located in Karratha, 1200 km north of Perth, Western Australia. The project has delivered almost 4000 cargoes since 1989.

Australian success story

Andrew Stewart, Australia and Asia Pacific managing director of WGPSN, commented: “Woodside is a great Australian success story and we are delighted to be selected as their partner of choice for this scope of work. This new contract deepens our presence in Western Australian, which is well timed against the local market transition we expect from greenfield construction to production support services.

“We are excited to be working with Woodside in a relationship centred on consistent, predictable delivery services across their onshore and offshore asset base. This new contract adds to recent awards in Papua New Guinea, Malaysia and Bass Strait.”
