Shell has declared force majeure on gas supplies to Nigeria’s LNG terminal, according to local sources.
Reuters reports that the force majeure was declared following a pipeline leak. A spokesman for Shell, Precious Okolobo, said that oil production remained unaffected by the shut down of the Eastern Gas Gathering System 1 (EGGS-1) pipeline.
A spokesman for Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Co., Tony Okonedo, said that exports has not been affected, although the company was in the process of discussing the rescheduling of some shipments.
