The US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has issued a letter order authorising Corpus Christi Liquefaction (CCL) to introduce gas and commission the Train 2 fuel gas system at its liquefaction and LNG export terminal at Corpus Christi, Texas.
In summary, the letter, dated 3 January 2019, granted CCL’s request to introduce gas and commission the Train 2 fuel gas system as it complied with the relevant ‘Environmental Conditions’ of the Commission’s 30 December 2014 ‘Order Granting Authorisation Under Section 3 of the Natural Gas Act and Issuing Certificates’. Compliance was verified by FERC staff inspections and review of the information previously filed by CCL.
CCL were also further reminded in the letter that compliance with the remaining terms and conditions of the above Order, in addition to procedures detailed in previous filings, remained mandatory.
Furthermore, it expressed that this latest approval did not grant CCL the authority to introduce hazardous fluids into other project facilities at the LNG terminal. It expressed that additional authorisations would be released once CCL had demonstrated full compliance with the conditions of the Order.
