China CNOOC's new Shenzhen terminal receives first LNG cargo

According to Reuters, Chinese state media have reported that CNOOC (China National Offshore Oil Company) has started operating a new LNG import facility in the south of the country.

It is reported that the terminal in the city of Shenzhen, near Hong Kong, recently received a 93 000 t LNG cargo from Qatar. If these reports are accurate, this would make Shenzhen the state firm’s ninth LNG terminal currently in operation.

The Shenzen terminal is equipped with a berth capabale of docking 266 000 m3 tankers, has four 160 000 m3 tanks, and an annual handling capacity of 4 million tpy.
