Petronas buys Australian spot LNG after domestic outage

Reuters are reporting that Malaysia’s Petronas purchased a spot LNG cargo from the Australia Pacific export plant to replace lost output from a domestic project hit by a partial outage.

Petronas paid somewhere in the high US$11 per mmBtu level for an AP LNG cargo loading on 4 February.

Output from the state-run company’s Bintulu export plant was curtailed last week after one of three pipelines supplying the project burst, prompting shipment delays, but the company has not declared a force majeure.
