Cameron LNG has announced that a pile rig is drilling the first of 18000 production piles on which its liquefaction project facilities will be built.
In a recent social media post, Cameron LNG said that the project is now moving away from the soil stabilisation work into actual initial site construction.
In February 2015, Cameron LNG initiated the pre-filing review with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) for the planned expansion of its existing three train liquefaction project in Hackberry, Louisiana, US.
The expansion project is expected to include two additional liquefaction trains and one additional full containment LNG storage tank. The expansion will be capable of increasing LNG production capacity by 9.97 million tpy. If approved, Cameron LNG's export capacity will be 24.92 million tpy.
In March, SGS announced that it has been awarded a US$2.35 million contract to perform vendor inspection for Cameron LNG.
Cameron LNG also contracted Elliott Group to manufacture three compressor trains for its new LNG liquefaction export facility.
