American LNG Marketing LCC authorised to export LNG

American LNG has been authorised by the Energy Department to export domestically produced LNG to countries that do not hold a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the US.

The authorisation allows for the exportation of natural gas of up to the equivalent of 0.008 billion ft3/d for 20 years, using approved ISO LNG containers. After considering the economic, environmental, and security factors the Energy Department concluded that exportation of this scale was ‘consistent with public interest’.

DOE approves two FTA exports

The US Department of Energy has permitted two LNG export applications for the supply of LNG to FTA countries in the Caribbean and Central America.

US Senator John Barrasso and 11 other lawmakers have asked the DOE to support LNG export facilities on the US west coast.
