Success for Air Liquide’s Turbo-Brayton-1050 for boil-off gas reliquefaction

Air Liquide has successfully commissioned a Turbo-Brayton-1050 for Boil-Off Gas reliquefaction onboard the Samsung Heavy Industry built LNG carrier, yard Hull Number 2130, named GasLog Genoa. The vessel is a 174 000 m3 LNG newbuilding operated by Gaslog.

Air Liquide has demonstrated the performance capabilities of the Turbo-Brayton-1050 (TBF-1050) cryogenic unit with results that exceeded the guaranteed values. A second TBF-1050 unit will also be commissioned on a sister vessel being built at the same yard.

The range also extends to equipment that is just as compact as this product but with even greater re-liquefaction capacity, like the TBF-1225 and the TBF-1400.

Air Liquide's Turbo-Brayton technology is a reliable and economical cryogenic system that requires no maintenance. It is designed to re-liquefy boil-off gas from LNG carriers. The range goes from the TBF-175 to the TBF-1400, and also meets refrigeration and liquefaction needs for land applications at temperatures of between -250°C and -70°C.
