Raven Transport expands LNG fleet

Raven Transport, a long-standing customer of Clean Energy Fuels Corp., is expanding its natural gas fleet with the addition of 115 LNG trucks.

The Peterbilt Model 579 vehicles are equipped with sleepers and powered by LNG to haul goods for a leading consumer packages goods company.

Mobile LNG units

Clean Energy will support Raven Transport’s fleet by opening natural gas fuelling stations in Atlanta, Georgia, Birmingham, Alabama, Pearl, Mississippi, and Theodore, Alabama. The fleet will also fuel at the company’s existing stations, while mobile LNG fuelling units will be deployed in Eden, North Carolina, Newnan, Georgia, Ocala, Florida, and Pineville, Louisiana.

Commenting on the expansion, Stepen Silverman, COO for Raven Transport, said: “Raven is rising to the challenge to move our customers’ goods with clean-burning fuel. Industry-leading shippers continue to set the standard in sustainable logistics, and today’s announcement enables Raven to accommodate these high standards.”

Raven purchased its expanded natural gas truck fleet from Rush Truck Center in Jacksonville, Florida. Custom Vehicle Solutions completed the installation of Chart LNG fuel systems purchased through Clean Energy’s tank pricing program. The fleet will operate on irregular routes originating from production plants and distribution centres in the Southeast US.
