ENGIE delivers LNG cargo to Beijing Gas Group

ENGIE has announced that it has successfully unloaded its first LNG cargo to Beijing Gas Group (BEG) at PetroChina’s Caofeidian LNG terminal.
The delivery is the first of many to Chinese buyers, and follows the contract signed in June 2015 between BEG and ENGIE that was attended by the Chinese Prime Minister, Li Keqiang, and the French Prime Minister, Manuel Valls. The contract is part of an agreement between ENGIE and BEG to cooperate in the LNG sector.
The LNG carrier, GDF SUEZ POINT FORTIN, delivered the shipment, and has a total capacity of 154 200 m3.
This cargo will be transferred to Beijing through the Yongtangqin pipeline, and will be a supplementary fuel source for Beijing City’s winter season.
The Chairman and CEO of ENGIE China, Jean-Marc Guyot, said: “This is an important milestone of ENGIE’s development in China. Through this LNG supply, we are pleased that ENGIE can contribute to China’s growing demand and efforts towards clean energy.”
