Thailand’s PTT to increase LNG imports in 2017

According to Reuters, PTT – the Thai energy firm – has claimed that it will import 5 million t of LNG in 2017. This is compared to the 3 million t imported in 2016.

Reportedly, the company is holding discussions with a number of potential suppliers, including BP and Shell. Reuters also added that the company is planning to purchase the LNG under long-term contracts.

The CEO of the company, Tevin Vongvanich, reportedly said that the company expects to conclude the details of the agreements in September 2016.
