LNG Industry,
Qatargas has launched a recruitment campaign, which targets young Qatari nationals. The ‘Hayyakum’ campaign is designed to reach out to those interested in developing their careers in the LNG industry and encourage them to send in their CVs to Qatargas.
The campaign is looking for two specific categories of young nationals: recent graduates with Bachelor’s degrees and those with high school diplomas.
The Qatargas Human Resources team has created a special e-mail for the campaign (4CVsHayyakum@qatargas.com.qa), which has been publicised over the past couple of weeks through newspaper adverts and clips in the local cinemas. E-Flyers have also been sent to schools and academic institutions to attract applications. In addition, Qatargas’ national employees are also using their own network to publicise the campaign amongst family and friends.
Good response
The Qatargas recruitment team has already received a large number of CVs in response to the campaign. The CVs are currently being screened and shortlisted candidates will be invited for assessment.
Qatargas is looking for graduates in various disciplines including engineering, IT and business administration. Following assessment interviews, successful candidates will enter Qatargas’ National Development programme before eventually being positioned as fully qualified professionals.
High School Diploma holders will have the opportunity to be assigned to Qatargas’ Technical Preparation Programme which leads to the role of operator or technician in fields such as process, electrical, mechanical or instrumentation.
Investing in the future
Investing in the education and training of young Qataris is a key objective for Qatargas and is at the core of the company’s corporate social responsibility strategies. Qatargas has well-established and proven strategies and programmes to attract, recruit and develop talented Nationals. One important initiative is the company's Outreach Programme, which focuses on liaising with the education sector and includes reaching out to schools and universities, participating in career fair events and visiting schools. Qatargas is committed to supporting national graduates and trainees with regular coaching and counseling.
