Naval architect and marine engineer, Robert Allan Ltd, has announced that two of its tugs have been put into operation by SAAM S.A. The Yunco and Huairavo RAstar 3200 class vessels will provide a full range of ship-handling services to the LNG terminal in the Bay of Quintero, Chile.

The vessels, which include winches for escort service, were built by Bonny Fair Development Ltd in China, and arrived at their destination after a 60-day journey.

The Manager of the Chile Tugs Division of SAAM, Cristián Rojas, said: “These new units are part of the plan to renew and grow our fleet to meet the needs imposed by the arrival of large containerships and other special terminals, mainly handling oil and gas, which have higher safety requirements.”

SAAM now has a total fleet of more than 180 tugs, providing services in over 70 ports.
