Saipem wins two new Tangguh LNG contracts

Saipem has announced that it has won two new engineering and construction contracts for both on and offshore work on the Tangguh LNG expansion project in Indonesia. The project operator, BP Berau Ltd, awarded the contracts on behalf of the other production sharing contract parties.

Under the first contract, Saipem will provide the engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) of the offshore facilities. These will consist of two unmanned platforms and subsea platforms. In accordance with the requirement of the Indonesian upstream oil and gas regulator, SKK Migas, Saipem will contribute to local content enhancement, including via its Karimun fabrication yard.

The second contract has been awarded to CSTS, which is a joint operation led by the Indonesian engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor, Tripatra. It also includes Suluh Ardhi Engineering, Chiyoda and Saipem. Under the contract, CSTS will construct a 3.8 million tpy LNG process train, offsites, utilities, an LNG jetty, and the associated infrastructure. Work is expected to be completed in 2020.
