Applied LNG hosts ribbon cutting for Dallas-Midlothian LNG plant

Applied LNG – a US producer and marketer of LNG – has announced that it will hold an official ribbon cutting ceremony for its LNG production facility in Midlothian, Texas, US. The ceremony is scheduled for 27 October 2015 and will welcome attendees from the 2015 High Horsepower Summit, which is taking place in Dallas. A tour of the facility will also be provided by the hosts. The LNG plant will serve customers in Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana and New Mexico.

The facility will have an initial total capacity of 30 million gal./yr of LNG, but will reach 180 million gal./yr at full build out when it will have up to six liquefiers. Additionally, it will be capable of storing up to 1.5 million gal. of LNG.

The plant will also include an on-site LNG-fuelling station, and will serve a variety of high-horsepower applications, such as oil and gas, agriculture, trucking, marine, rail, construction, remote power and mining that currently use either propane or diesel and that are interested in converting to LNG. Dallas-Midlothian’s first liquefaction train is Applied LNG’s third liquefier alongside the two currently in use at the Needle Mountain LNG plant near Topock, Arizona.
