The US Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Fossil Energy has issued an order granting American LNG Marketing LLC blanket authorisation to export LNG to countries with and without a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the US, with which trade is not prohibited by US law or policy.
Under the authorisation, American LNG Marketing can export 6.04 billion ft3 of natural gas on a cumulative basis over a two-year period in ISO containers loaded at its proposed Hialeah facility near Medley, Florida, US.
The DOE’s Office of Fossil Energy reviewed the application and concluded that it has not been demonstrated that the proposed LNG exports are inconsistent with the public interest.
